Gyeongbuk Technopark held the ‘Secondary Battery Institution Tour and Capacity Building Workshop’ on the 9th at the Pohang Secondary Battery Comprehensive Management Center in collaboration with Dongseo University’s Advanced Industry Talent Development Bootcamp Project Group.

<Gyeongbuk TP Secondary Battery Comprehensive Management Center, Dongseo University Students 'Battery Recycling' Education</Gyeongbuk> Gyeongbuk Technopark held the 'Secondary Battery Institution Tour and Capacity Building Workshop' at the Secondary Battery Integrated Management Center on the 9th.

This workshop is a project aimed at nurturing and supporting talent for advanced industry companies such as secondary batteries and semiconductors through intensive education within one year or during major degree programs.


Dongseo University in Busan was selected for a project to cultivate specialized talent in areas ranging from secondary battery materials to cells, packs, and recycling, receiving a total of 8.2 billion KRW in funding from July 2024 to February 2029 from the Ministry of Education (Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology) and Busan City.


The Secondary Battery Comprehensive Management Center is responsible for educating Dongseo University students on overall secondary battery topics, including performance evaluation procedures and methods for determining reuse and recycling of used batteries, as well as ESS and mobility applications using reused batteries.


Additionally, it provides opportunities to assist Dongseo University students in career planning by teaching current and future technologies of the secondary battery industry, relevant laws for industrialization of used batteries, and new technologies.


A representative from Gyeongbuk Technopark stated, “The on-site experiential education for Dongseo University students serves as a region-based social contribution activity fulfilling the institution’s social responsibility. Through performing the role of an industry-academia-research-government cooperation platform and supporting the cultivation of specialized personnel in battery materials, we will lead the eco-friendly battery materials and components industry.”
