"Hell, It Was Hell"... US Actor Fights Fire to Protect $3.5 Billion Home

Sebastian Harrison Ignores Evacuation Order to Protect Home
Escapes as Flames Rise... "I Couldn't See Anything"

A fire that started in the Palisades area of Los Angeles (LA), California, is still burning along the West Coast, and Hollywood actor Sebastian Harrison was trapped by the flames but was barely rescued.

According to the British media outlet Daily Telegraph on the 9th (local time), Harrison rushed straight to his home in Malibu, LA, on the night of the 7th when the fire began. The mansion is known to be a high-priced property he purchased in 2010 for $2.4 million (about 350 million KRW).

However, when Harrison arrived, the edges of the house were already catching fire. Harrison first rescued his father, Richard (89). At that time, an evacuation order had been issued for the area, and tens of thousands of residents, including Hollywood stars, had already started evacuating, but Harrison reportedly ignored the order, determined to protect his property.

Harrison grabbed a hose and sprayed water on the roof, and also moved all the furniture in the outdoor garden. However, the flames only grew fiercer, and eventually, Harrison decided he had to escape from the house.

Regarding the situation, Harrison said, "As everyone knows, the police came and told us to evacuate. Everyone left, but I was the only one left behind," adding, "By the time I decided I had to get out of there, I realized there was no one left to help me." The media stated, "Many stars lost their properties due to the fire, but few were as close to the flames as Harrison."

Harrison then tried to leave the scene by car, but to make matters worse, the engine wouldn't start. He recalled the urgent situation, saying, "It was hell, hell. The wind was calm, then suddenly a huge gust blew, and an orange wall of flames appeared around me," adding, "Because of the flames and smoke, I couldn't see anything."

He gave up on the car and hid behind a rock. A video of him trapped by the flames was also posted on his personal social media. Ash and sparks were flying everywhere, thick smoke completely obscured visibility, and only the distant burning flames could be barely identified by their orange glow.

Eventually, Harrison found the only working car among his vehicles and escaped the scene. Around 9 p.m. that day, local fire authorities, who responded to a report from his wife, made contact and rescued him. The vehicle he was in had already caught fire, creating a very dangerous situation.

Meanwhile, Harrison is the son of Richard Harrison, a veteran actor in the American B-movie industry, and is an American born in Rome, Italy. He is known in the U.S. mainly for appearing in B-movies or low-budget independent films and is also the CEO of a regional wireless communication company called Cellular Abroad.
