Bong Joon-ho's New Film 'Mickey 17' to Premiere on February 28... Robert Pattinson Visiting Korea Director Bong Joon-ho. Yonhap News

Director Bong Joon-ho's Hollywood film "Mickey 17" is set to be released domestically on the 28th of next month, Warner Bros. Korea, the distributor, announced on the 10th. The film will have a global release on March 7, but will be shown to Korean audiences beforehand.

Actor Robert Pattinson, who plays the lead role in the film, will visit Korea on the 20th of this month. Pattinson will attend a footage screening and a press conference with Director Bong, marking the start of their global promotional activities. Bong and Pattinson are also expected to meet fans through stage greetings and other events. The distributor explained that this visit was arranged due to Pattinson's strong desire to visit Korea, Bong's homeland.

"Mickey 17" tells the story of Mickey, a disposable expendable sent on dangerous missions who, after facing his 17th near-death experience, is presumed dead and replaced by Mickey 18. Pattinson plays two contrasting versions of Mickey, almost like a dual role. This film is Bong's next project following "Parasite" (2019), which won the top awards at the Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Awards, marking the first time a Korean film achieved such honors.
