Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu, expressed his commitment to implementing policies reflecting the voices from the field of public livelihood at the 'Small Business Owners On-site New Year Meeting' held on the 8th at the Uijeongbu Commercial Area Revitalization Foundation to welcome the new year 2025.
According to Uijeongbu City on the 10th, this meeting was an opportunity to directly listen to the difficulties faced by small business owners struggling with high inflation and rising labor costs, and to seek solutions. Representatives of small business owners from each commercial district attended.
The meeting began with sharing the achievements of Uijeongbu City's major commercial area revitalization policies in 2024. Through this, merchants reviewed the effects of the policies implemented by the city over the past year. Then, the 2025 support plans for small business owners in Uijeongbu City were announced, and various policies that could provide practical help to small business owners were promoted.
The main issues raised by small business owners that day included concerns about the reduction in commercial area support scale due to the merger of Uijeongbu Urban Corporation and Uijeongbu Commercial Area Revitalization Foundation, and the procedures for outdoor business permits.
Regarding this, Mayor Kim Dong-geun explained, "The merger aims to integrate overlapping functions and strengthen commercial area revitalization functions," adding, "It will rather serve as an opportunity to enhance the efficiency of commercial area support."
He also stated about other requests such as outdoor business, "Uijeongbu City will carefully review the issues and actively work to resolve the difficulties faced by small business owners."
Mayor Kim Dong-geun emphasized, "We will continue to communicate with the field of public livelihood and seek various cooperative measures to solve problems."
