Hankook Tire Sponsored Formula E Mexico City to be Held on the 11th

Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire), an official sponsor, announced that the 2nd round of the 11th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (Formula E), an electric vehicle racing competition organized by the F?d?ration Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), will be held on the 11th (local time) in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. This is the first race under the sponsorship name Korea (Hankook) at the 2025 Korea Mexico City E-Prix. Hankook Tire will also participate as a title sponsor in the Shanghai race in May and the Berlin race in July.

The Mexico City circuit is located in a high-altitude area at 2,250 meters above sea level. It is a course with a large daily temperature range and requires advanced driving skills. The newly unveiled electric vehicle racing tire, the ZEN3 Evo iON Race, designed by Hankook Tire this season, is optimized for the new Formula E car ZEN3 Evo and helps achieve a driving performance that reaches 100 km/h about 30-36% faster than F1 machines or existing racing vehicles.

The company also reported that this tire attracted attention at the season opener held last December in S?o Paulo. Maximilian G?nther, a driver who participated in the opener, said, "The ZEN3 Evo iON Race showed performance beyond expectations even under challenging conditions," and evaluated, "The consistent grip and excellent thermal management throughout the race were impressive."

The company is also applying its electric vehicle racing tire technology to general electric vehicle tires. The all-season tire iON Evo AS from the electric vehicle-exclusive tire brand iON incorporates technologies such as pressure distribution tailored to electric vehicle characteristics, noise reduction technology, and energy efficiency enhancement technology, the company explained. This 11th season of Formula E will be held over a total of 16 rounds in major cities across 10 countries worldwide.
