"Anyone know this guy?"... 'Musical Connector' Lee Seok-jun targets Cha Kang-seok for 'Yoon support' post

Musical actor Lee Seok-jun publicly targeted Cha Kang-seok, who had been embroiled in controversy over his remarks defending martial law.

On the 9th, Lee Seok-jun posted a screenshot on his Instagram story of a news article featuring a photo of Cha Kang-seok with Kim Min-jeon, a member of the People Power Party, captioning it, "Do you know this guy?" This appears to express his displeasure at the use of the term "musical actor" to describe Cha Kang-seok, who supports President Yoon Seok-yeol and has attended rallies opposing the president's impeachment.

Last December, Cha Kang-seok faced backlash for remarks defending the declaration of martial law by President Yoon. At the time, he posted on his Instagram, "There are too many spies. I welcome martial law. Please catch all the spies and execute them." After the controversy, Cha Kang-seok revealed, "I was recently notified of dismissal from my contract lecturer position."

As the impeachment crisis intensified, he was also seen participating in conservative group rallies. On the 28th of last month, at a rally opposing President Yoon's impeachment, he said, "My heart is heavy. Yesterday (the 27th), Prime Minister Han Duck-soo was impeached, accused of dereliction of duty and being an accomplice to rebellion." He added, "Is exercising the veto power and seeking consultation with both parties to carefully review and make a prudent decision on matters that determine the fate of the country considered dereliction of duty?" He continued, "Rebellion is a major conflict within the country aimed at seizing power. Those who recklessly use impeachment to seize power, following the socialist revolution's bible to create anarchy and overthrow the government, are the real rebels." On the 8th, he also posted a photo with Kim Min-jeon, along with the phrase, "Please protect the country, Congressman."

Meanwhile, Lee Seok-jun debuted in 1996 with the play Gone with the Wind and has appeared in numerous plays and musicals. He is known as a well-connected figure in the musical industry and is the husband of actress Chu Sang-mi.

Cha Kang-seok has mainly been active on musical and performance stages. He has appeared in productions such as We Make Your Love Come True, Heart Signal, Romeo and Juliet, and A Killer Story.
