Kim Tae-heum, the "No. 1 Salesperson of Chungnam," has signed the province's first large-scale investment agreement of the year.

The Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government announced on the 10th that, on the 9th (local time), at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) venue in Las Vegas, USA, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for investment was signed with Ban Hol, President of Corning Precision Materials, and Jo Ilgyo, Acting Mayor of Asan.

Under this agreement, Corning Precision Materials will invest in introducing next-generation advanced material process technologies and production facilities, and will hire local residents.

The provincial government and Asan City will actively support administrative procedures, such as government permits and approvals, from the time of foreign investment reporting until the manufacturing facility is completed.

The province expects that Corning Precision Materials' investment will further strengthen Chungnam's position as a "global display mecca."

Governor Kim stated, "When I visited Corning, New York, in April 2023, I felt that the citizens were proud of the company Corning," and added, "The people of Chungnam also consider Corning, which has been with Korea for 52 years and Chungnam for 30 years, as our own company."

He continued, "We will provide full support so that Corning can write a hundred-year history in Chungnam as well."

Governor Kim showed great interest in next-generation display glass substrates and special innovative materials, which are among Chungnam's key development projects, and explored possibilities for integration with local industries.

Corning Precision Materials currently produces high-performance display glass substrates, Corning Gorilla Glass for mobile device covers, and interior display glass for automobiles.

In Korea, in addition to Corning Precision Materials, there are Corning Technology Center Korea, Samsung Corning Advanced Glass, and Corning Korea.

As of 2023, Corning, the parent company, is a leading global corporation operating in over 40 countries worldwide.
