"Saturday Orders, Sunday Delivery"... Home Shopping Enters Delivery War

Improving Shopping Quality Through Enhanced Delivery Services

The home shopping industry has stepped up its delivery competitiveness by introducing same-day arrival services. This strategy aims to attract customers through customized delivery services.


According to the home shopping industry on the 10th, Shinsegae Live Shopping will simultaneously launch the ‘Today Arrival’ and ‘Sunday Arrival’ services starting from this day. These services were introduced in collaboration with CJ Logistics and apply to broadcast products delivered through Shinsegae Live Shopping’s ambient and cold (refrigerated/frozen) logistics centers.

Today Arrival is a service that delivers products purchased from broadcasts aired between midnight and 10 a.m. on the same day. It covers the entire metropolitan area, and products are shipped immediately upon order and delivered to the destination on the same day. The Sunday Arrival service strengthens delivery so that customers who order products on Saturday can receive them the very next day instead of Monday. Currently, these services apply to products delivered through the company’s own logistics centers, but they plan to expand the service to include direct delivery products by the first half of the year.


Shinsegae Live Shopping also introduced the ‘Shinsegae Live Shopping O-NE’ service in the second half of last year, starting quality control for products sent directly by partners, improving the speed and quality of delivery services. Lee Seok-gu, CEO of Shinsegae Live Shopping, explained, “Customers can receive products immediately without any additional burden, which will elevate the quality of shopping to the next level.”


Recently, NS Home Shopping signed a business agreement with Lotte Global Logistics (Lotte Courier) and introduced the ‘Promise Delivery’ service. Lotte Courier’s Promise Delivery service, launched in December last year, offers delivery options in four time slots?dawn, morning, afternoon, and night?across all areas of Seoul. Through a business agreement with Hanjin Courier, NS Home Shopping also launched the ‘Direct Courier Same-Day Delivery’ service. This system enables same-day delivery for shipments dispatched from partner logistics centers. For morning broadcast products, the delivery lead time, which previously averaged 28 hours upon order completion during the broadcast, has been shortened by 14 hours, enabling delivery within 14 hours.

CJ OnStyle also newly introduced the ‘Dawn O-NE’ service in December last year. Customers who purchase eligible products before 9 p.m. on weekdays can receive their products at dawn. CJ OnStyle plans to build the fastest delivery service in the industry by expanding its logistics infrastructure nationwide and enhancing its services.


GS Shop has been operating holiday delivery services since October last year. Until the end of last year, holiday delivery was provided for 3 to 4 Saturday broadcast products such as ‘The Collection’ at 9:20 a.m. and ‘Show Me The Trend’ at 9:35 p.m. on Saturdays, and this year, the company plans to gradually expand the service coverage. The service area includes Seoul, Incheon, and some parts of the metropolitan area.
