Korea Photonics Technology Institute to Promote Establishment of Organization Standard for AI Building Certification

The Korea Photonics Technology Institute is promoting the establishment of a group standard for AI-based building certification, based on the achievements of developing "AI-based building energy optimization and reduction technology" utilizing photonics convergence technology.

On the 9th, the Korea Photonics Technology Institute announced that it was finally selected as a joint research institute for the "Core Technology Development Project for Energy Demand Management," which was publicly recruited by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in June last year.

The Korea Photonics Technology Institute has been responsible for establishing a standard and certification system for building energy efficiency optimization based on AI autonomous operation systems (hereinafter referred to as AI building certification) and conducting living lab demonstration research in the project.

As a reference standard for AI building certification, the Korea Photonics Technology Institute is preparing to establish group standards for elements such as AI autonomous operation implementation, evaluation of energy-intensive devices, user satisfaction criteria, and reference standard space models.

The AI building certification is planned to be developed based on KOLAS product certification.
