Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office, Special Visit to Elderly Lone National Veterans During Severe Cold Season

The Busan Regional Veterans Office (Director Lee Nam-il) conducted a special on-site inspection and consolation visit on the 9th by visiting the homes of elderly single veterans due to concerns about increased heating cost burdens and the risk of solitary deaths among vulnerable elderly national veterans during the winter cold wave.

Director Lee Nam-il of the Busan Regional Veterans Office visited Mr. Bae (90, Dongnae-gu, Busan), a veteran living alone, to check on his well-being and delivered red bean porridge, a winter blanket, and a 10kg bag of white rice to help him stay safe and warm during the winter.

Mr. Bae expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am thankful that the Veterans Office came to visit, listened to me, and provided daily necessities."

The Busan Regional Veterans Office plans to continue on-site inspections and special consolation visits for vulnerable groups during the winter until the 17th, aiming to support elderly single veterans in overcoming the cold winter.

Director Lee Nam-il of the Busan Regional Veterans Office stated, "We will actively strive to remember the dedication to the nation and to practice 'living veterans affairs in daily life, veterans affairs for all' through expanded public-private cooperation."
