2025 New Year's Meeting Held... Pledging a New Start and Citizen Unity

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held the 2025 New Year's Greeting Meeting on the 9th at the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center Indoor Gymnasium, pledging a new start and citizen unity.

This New Year's Greeting Meeting was organized to review the achievements of the past year and share Namyangju City's vision for this year.

About 700 people attended the event, including Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, members of the council and political parties, related organizations, sponsors, and volunteers, sharing words of encouragement and a time of harmony for the city's development.

The first part was planned as a special performance by the Namyangju City Choir and Namyangju City Symphony Orchestra, and the second part featured cake cutting and New Year's greetings.

In the first part of the concert, hopeful songs such as "Dream of a Goose" and "We Are One" were performed. Following that, the symphony orchestra enhanced the event's dignity with melodies that moved the citizens, including "Air on the G String" and "Jazz Waltz."

Especially, the performance of "From the New World" symbolically expressed Namyangju City's new leap forward and growth into a global city.

The second part of the greeting meeting began with Mayor Joo Gwang-deok's New Year's address, and attendees pledged to do their best in their respective positions to welcome the new year.

Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, "Thanks to the participation and efforts of the citizen market last year, we achieved results such as attracting the Gyeonggi Public Medical Center, opening the Byeollae Line, and attracting investment from Woori Financial Group's Digital Universe," adding, "In 2025, marking the 30th anniversary of Namyangju City's integration, we will work even harder for the super growth of the 1 million mega city."

He continued, "This year will be the first year of a great transformation of Namyangju's industrial ecosystem," emphasizing, "We will achieve change and development that awaken the imagination of Jeong Yak-yong."
