This project aims to foster future agricultural manpower by discovering promising prospective farmers and agricultural managers who will lead agricultural development, and providing support such as low-interest loans and farming settlement subsidies.

Applicants for the Young Farmer project must be independent managers aged between 18 and under 40 years old, or those who have been independently managing for less than 3 years. For the Successor Farmer project, applicants must be between 18 and under 50 years old and have no experience or less than 10 years of experience in farming.

However, only those who have graduated from agriculture-related departments or agricultural high schools, or have completed agricultural education at educational institutions, are eligible to apply for the Successor Farmer project.

Selected participants will receive up to 500 million KRW per household under loan conditions of a 5-year grace period and 20 years of equal principal repayment with an annual interest rate of 1.5%. The funds can be used for purchasing farmland, installing facilities, and buying agricultural machinery.

Additionally, the ‘Farming Settlement Support Fund’ is provided to young farmers with unstable initial income. After starting independent management, they can receive vouchers worth 900,000 to 1,100,000 KRW per month for up to 3 years, depending on the year, which can be used for household and farming expenses.

Meanwhile, the two projects cannot be applied for simultaneously within the same year, but those already selected as beneficiaries of existing projects may apply.

Citizens wishing to participate in the projects can apply online directly through the ‘Agricultural and Forestry Project Information System’ without visiting in person.
