Volvo "Electric SUV Deliveries in Q1... Double-Digit Sales Growth Expected This Year"

Volvo Cars Korea announced on the 9th that it has set a double-digit growth target for this year's sales. The company sold 15,051 units last year, ranking fourth among all imported car brands.


In the first quarter of this year, deliveries of the compact electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) EX30 will begin. It features a new family look and space design, next-generation T-map infotainment with an intuitive interface, and a price around 40 million KRW. In addition, the company expects steady demand for family cars centered on existing key models in the SUV lineup, such as the XC range (XC90, XC60, XC40).

The flagship model XC60 sold 5,988 units last year, making it the best-selling imported mid-size SUV. Notably, individual purchases accounted for 75% of Volvo Cars Korea's sales last year (cumulative from January to November 2024), indicating strong popularity among actual users. By age group of individual customers, those in their 40s made up the largest portion at 32%, followed by those in their 30s (26%), 50s (26%), and 60s (11%), suggesting it is widely purchased as a family car.


SUVs accounted for 68% of total sales, exceeding two-thirds. The XC40 sold 2,493 units, making it the best-selling single-trim model among premium brand compact SUVs. The V60 Cross Country sold 934 units, ranking as the best-selling imported wagon.


The company introduced a repurchase program offering up to 2 million KRW benefits for returning customers and their families, along with a trade-in program. Other popular features among customers include 15 years of free wireless updates for all models and a 5-year digital service package subscription. Lee Yun-mo, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, said, "Starting with the EX30 launch in the first quarter of this year, we will prepare for a new era and strive to become a brand that achieves the highest customer satisfaction in all areas of sales and service."
