Dabolink Chairman: "Min Hee-jin Discussed Investment to Poach NewJeans... Made Harsh Remarks About Bang Si-hyuk"

Dabolink Chairman States Position in Media Interview
"Min Hee-jin's Lies Caused Stock Damage" Claim
Min Hee-jin's Side Responds "Completely Untrue"

Former ADORE CEO Min Hee-jin is embroiled in controversy over claims that she met with external investors to discuss taking the group NewJeans away.

On the 9th, Ten Asia reported that Min met with Park Jung-kyu, chairman of Dabolink, at the end of September last year to discuss investment for establishing a new company. Previously, Min had completely denied allegations of contacting external investors. In response, Chairman Park called it a "blatant lie." The media outlet claimed that Park received a request from Mr. B, the great uncle of NewJeans member A, to invest 5 billion won in Min, but Park's side said the risk was too high to invest and instead proposed structuring a deal to take over Dabolink.

Ultimately, the investment did not materialize. However, Chairman Park stated that he never met Min and expressed that he suffered damages such as a drop in stock prices. In early November last year, Min said, "I heard that rumors are spreading in the investment industry that I 'agreed to receive investment from someone' or 'signed a contract with someone.' I also heard that a specific company name was mentioned, but I clearly state that none of this is true," adding, "I also confirm that I have not contacted or exchanged opinions with any company other than the one mentioned."

Regarding Min's claims, Chairman Park said he met Min in person and that she asked, "Can I take NewJeans with me?" He said that during their three-hour conversation, Min spoke more than 70% of the time, much of which was complaints about Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE. He added, "When she insulted Chairman Bang as a 'pig XX' in front of someone she just met, I thought, 'This person is not the one.'"
