Hamyang-gun Increases Cultural Nuri Card Support Amount This Year

Support for Cultural, Artistic, Travel, and Sports Activities for Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and Near-Poor Class Aged 6 and Above

Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that the support amount for the Munhwa Nuri Card will be increased by 10,000 KRW from the existing 130,000 KRW to 140,000 KRW starting from the new year.

The Munhwa Nuri Card is a program that supports individuals aged 6 and older who are basic livelihood security recipients or near-poverty class, making it difficult to enjoy cultural life due to economic conditions, by allowing them to use it for cultural, artistic, travel, and sports activities.

The previous annual support amount per person was 130,000 KRW until 2024, but starting this year, it will be increased to 140,000 KRW, expanding the benefits for the cultural life support of the eligible recipients.

Those who used the Munhwa Nuri Card in 2024 and maintain their eligibility in 2025 will have the support funds automatically charged to their existing cards without a separate application process.

The automatic charging will take place over four days from the 15th to the 20th after verifying eligibility. New eligible recipients can apply starting from February, and further guidance will be provided through separate promotions.

Detailed information can be confirmed by visiting the local town or township office or through the Munhwa Nuri Card website.

Hamyang-gun estimates that the number of Munhwa Nuri Card issuance targets for 2025 is 3,065 people and plans to strengthen promotional activities to ensure all eligible recipients receive the card.

A county official stated, “Based on the 2024 data, we plan to focus on guiding those who have no usage records or have not used any of the support funds after issuance,” adding, “We will do our best to prevent any cases of exclusion from support due to insufficient administrative promotion.”
