Gyeongnam Province Provides 'Hope Support Fund' to Citizens in Crisis... 2.7 Billion KRW for 2,700 Households

Gyeongsangnam-do will provide a 'Hope Support Fund' to low-income crisis households that are facing difficulties due to unemployment, business closure, death, illness, or other reasons affecting the main income earner in the household, but are not receiving legal or institutional support starting this year.


Gyeongnam Province, which has set the direction for the second half of the 8th term of the civilian government as 'Welfare, Companionship, and Hope,' announced that it will promote the Hope Support Fund project as emergency support for residents in crisis.

The eligibility criteria have been relaxed from the current government standard of 75% or below to include residents with up to 90% of the median income.


The province will provide a total of 2.7 billion KRW to 2,700 crisis households in the region under the categories of living expenses, medical expenses, housing costs, and education expenses.


The Hope Support Fund can be applied for at the local eup, myeon, or dong office, and after an on-site verification by the person in charge, the decision on payment will be made within three days.


The support amount varies depending on the crisis situation and the number of household members, with emergency medical expenses covered up to a maximum of 3 million KRW.
