On the 8th, Yeoncheon-gun, Seojeong University, and the Yeoncheon-gun Experience and Recreation Village Council announced that they signed an agreement on the 7th to create a pet-friendly tourism hub. This implementation agreement, linking the private sector, government, and academia, was attended by key personnel who discussed future cooperation directions and promotion plans.

During the council meeting, concrete opinions were exchanged regarding the development of ‘urban-rural convergence tourism products,’ including the establishment of pet-friendly tourism infrastructure, strategies to attract tourists, and the creation of various programs involving local residents. They also shared the goal of expanding experience and accommodation facilities where visitors can enjoy time with their pets, contributing to local job creation and enhancing the region’s image through the promotion of pet culture.

We will do our best to provide attractive experiences for tourists traveling with pets and to bring positive ripple effects to the local economy.”

Yeoncheon-gun has been continuously striving to become a pet-friendly city, successfully hosting the 2024 Yeoncheon DMZ Peace Trail Dog Event and leading efforts to protect abandoned animals through dog-related events.
