On the morning of the 7th at 10 a.m. (local time), Daejeon City opened the Daejeon Integrated Pavilion at 'CES 2025' held in Las Vegas, USA.
This is the second time the city has opened an exclusive pavilion, following last year. This year, in collaboration with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), the Daejeon Integrated Pavilion was established in Eureka Park to showcase Daejeon's six strategic industries and the outstanding innovative technologies of 23 startups.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jang Hojong, Deputy Mayor for Economic and Scientific Affairs of Daejeon City; Bang Seungchan, President of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute; Victor Hoskins, President and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority in the United States; Kim Hyunsung, Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation at Hanseo University; and Park Daehee, Director of the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.
Daejeon City, in cooperation with KOTRA and 23 innovative startups from Eureka Park, supported the participation of 10 growth-stage companies (with more than five years since founding) in the Global Pavilion.
In particular, even before the CES exhibition, support programs such as innovation award consulting and investor networking were operated, resulting in five companies among the supported firms?including Solarino Co., Ltd. and Innature Co., Ltd.?winning innovation awards.
The 'CES Innovation Award', regarded as the highest honor at CES, is given to innovative technologies and products that are expected to lead the world. This year, among 292 award-winning companies, Korean companies accounted for 129, representing 44% of the total. In Daejeon, 21 companies?including five directly supported by the city?received a total of 27 innovation awards.
