Gwangjin-gu to Provide Up to 400,000 Won Moving Allowance for Vulnerable Groups

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will provide moving expenses support of up to 400,000 KRW for low-income vulnerable groups.

The moving expenses support project for basic livelihood security recipients is designed to alleviate the economic burden and promote living stability by reimbursing moving costs for households receiving livelihood and medical benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security program.

According to the district, as of December 2024, there are 7,472 households receiving livelihood and medical benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security program. Last year, moving expenses totaling 147 million KRW were supported for 395 households.

This year, 127 million KRW will be invested to help vulnerable groups maintain stable housing.

The eligible recipients are households whose entire members have moved to Gwangjin-gu under the National Basic Livelihood Security program, and applications must be submitted within 60 days after moving registration. Benefits can be received again only after two years from the application date.

The support covers actual moving costs such as transportation and labor fees. ▲ Facility recipients such as communal living homes ▲ Medical benefit recipients under other laws ▲ Those who have moved out of the region and some incoming households ▲ Households that have already received moving expense support from Seoul City or other autonomous districts are excluded.

Applications can be made by visiting the local community service center with the moving expense support application form, lease contract, moving expense receipts, and other required documents. For more details, contact the Social Welfare and Disabled Affairs Division of Gwangjin-gu Office.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “This program was established to provide practical help to low-income households struggling with economic burdens when they need to move,” adding, “We will continue to develop various projects to ensure housing stability for vulnerable groups and strive to make the city a better place to live.”
