Pocheon City Signs Agreement for Happy Dookki Project to Support Children at Risk of Hunger in Blind Spots

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 8th that it signed a "Business Agreement for Cooperation on the Pocheon City Happy Two Meals Project" with the Happy Alliance (Secretariat Happy Narae Co., Ltd.) and the Happy Dosirak Social Cooperative on the 7th.

The agreement ceremony was attended by Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Cho Min-young, Head of Happy Narae Co., Ltd., Choi Jun, Secretary General of Happy Dosirak Social Cooperative, and Oh Sang-woon, CEO of Happy Co., Ltd., who reaffirmed their commitment to solving the issue of children at risk of food insecurity.


The Pocheon City Happy Two Meals Project is a program that provides side dishes for one year to 40 children at risk of food insecurity who are in welfare blind spots.


Happy Narae Co., Ltd. supports the meal supply project costs with donations from member companies of the Happy Alliance network, and the Happy Dosirak Social Cooperative is responsible for manufacturing and delivering side dishes and other meal support. Pocheon City plans to cooperate in identifying children eligible for meal support and providing continuous support after the project ends.


Additionally, through this project, starting from March, side dishes for five days a week will be delivered twice a week to the homes of the recipients.


Cho Min-young, Head of Happy Narae Co., Ltd., said, "We are grateful to Pocheon City for taking the lead in support. We hope this project will be a great help to children at risk of food insecurity," and added, "The Happy Alliance will continue to collaborate with various companies and local governments so that children can grow up as healthy members of society."


Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon City, said, "I hope this project will be an opportunity to further strengthen the social safety net so that children can grow up healthily without worrying about food insecurity," and added, "A meal filled with your support and efforts is more than just food; it will be a source of strength for our children and a foundation for nurturing their dreams."
