On the 7th (local time), according to foreign media including the British Daily Mail and Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP), the Chinese Consulate in Chiang Mai, Thailand, announced that Wang Xing (22), a Chinese actor reported missing on the 3rd, was found on the same day.

Earlier, Wang Xing arrived in Bangkok, Thailand on the 3rd and lost contact the same afternoon in Mae Sot, a northwestern region of Thailand bordering Myanmar. Wang Xing's girlfriend announced his disappearance on the evening of the 5th through her social media, stating, "Wang Xing, who went to Thailand for filming, suddenly lost contact at noon on the 3rd in the Mae Sot area on the Thailand-Myanmar border."

Wang Xing was recently cast by a Thai film company and entered the country for filming. However, the contact he received was from a ghost entertainment company. This led to speculation that he might have been kidnapped by a group aiming for ransom. Mae Sot, where he last lost contact, is located across a river from Myawaddy in Myanmar and is known for rampant fraud crimes. The Daily Mail explained, "Southeast Asia, especially border cities between Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, has become a hub for scams, with hundreds of thousands of people trafficked and exploited for labor by criminal organizations." Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs also raised the travel advisory from Level 3 (Travel Recommendation) to Level 4 (Travel Ban) on the 27th of last month after an increase in crimes such as employment scams targeting Koreans in Myawaddy.

After Wang Xing was found in Myanmar, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha stated, "Chinese actor Wang Xing was found near the Mae Sot border," and added, "The Myanmar border guards are protecting Wang Xing." Thai police also reported that they received Wang Xing from the border guards. Photos released by the Thai police showed Wang Xing with a shaved head and a changed appearance, and red marks were reportedly visible on his legs.

Meanwhile, Wang has actively worked in China, appearing in numerous TV dramas and films such as the movie 'Ip Man 3', the drama 'Nishia Jeok Yeongyo (You Are My Glory)', 'Hoyo Sohongrang Wolhongpyeon', and 'Maegoe Jeok Gosa (The Story of a Rose)'.
