SOS Lab Showcases LiDAR Based on NVIDIA Platform Collaboration at CES 2025

LiDAR leading company SOS Lab announced on the 8th that its products such as 3D and 2D LiDAR showcased at CES 2025, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, and the next-generation ‘LiDAR-based Parking Guidance System (LPGS)’ based on the NVIDIA Jetson Nano board are receiving great attention.

LPGS is a solution that uses LiDAR to detect vacant parking spaces in outdoor parking lots in real time. It can be easily installed on existing facilities such as streetlights and can detect up to approximately 50 spaces with a single sensor. The recognition success rate reaches 99%, boasting high accuracy.

SOS Lab's LPGS has already been deployed at Gimhae Airport and Yeosu Airport in Korea and has entered full-scale operation. It also won the Excellence Award in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Innovation in Work Practices this year. Furthermore, through local partners, it is continuously pursuing expansion into overseas markets such as Japan and Taiwan. Through CES 2025, SOS Lab plans to actively expand the global market not only in the autonomous vehicle sector but also for LPGS.

The NVIDIA Jetson Nano is a single-board computer specialized in graphic computations such as artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, and computer vision. SOS Lab collaborates with NVIDIA and utilizes it for AI computations including filtering, segmentation, and clustering of large amounts of point cloud data acquired from its LiDAR sensors, as well as for UI configuration to provide convenience to customers. The Jetson Nano’s high energy efficiency and powerful performance are regarded as an optimized board for SOS Lab’s main small LiDAR products.

An official from SOS Lab said, “Recently, the trend of LiDAR utilization is expanding in various fields worldwide, and there is more interest in our company than during previous participations. Starting with LPGS, we will do our best to continue cooperation with NVIDIA in various areas such as autonomous driving platforms and surrounding perception simulations.”

At CES 2025, SOS Lab is showcasing a variety of LiDAR product lines including LPGS, fixed 3D LiDAR models ML-X, ML-A, ML-U, and 2D rotating LiDAR models GL-3, GL-5.

The next-generation ultra-high-performance LiDAR ML-U, selected for this year’s CES Innovation Award, attracted attention from many global companies worldwide along with LPGS. The ML-U is a fixed 3D LiDAR specialized for precise detection in autonomous vehicles, embedding deep learning-based proprietary colorization technology to provide LiDAR data that looks as if captured by a camera.
