Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) announced on the 8th that it has opened the "Jongno Fashion Comprehensive Support Center" in Changsin-dong, where clothing manufacturing companies are concentrated, and has begun full-scale operations.

The center was built with a budget of 3 billion KRW after being selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' public project in 2023. The total floor area is 463.74㎡, divided between 124 Changsin-gil (3rd floor of Dongbu Women's Culture Center) and 79 Changsin-gil, 2nd and 3rd floors. It is expected to serve as a hub to strengthen the capabilities of small manufacturers in this field and improve production capacity.
The 3rd floor of Dongbu Women's Culture Center houses the "Shared Equipment Room," equipped with various sewing machines, and the "Product Development Room," a collaborative space for the entire process from joint brand planning and design to prototype development. The 2nd floor of 79 Changsin-gil consists of offices, clothing exhibition space, and an education room, while the 3rd floor includes an "Automatic Cutting Room" and a "CAD Room."
Jongno-gu supports sewing companies' production activities here by providing automatic cutting services and digital CAD work assistance. It also rents out necessary spaces and equipment, including the shared equipment room, and offers capability enhancement training and consulting services. Additionally, it plans to promote the fashion clothing industry through collaboration between designers and small clothing manufacturers.
District Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, "With the operation of the Jongno Fashion Comprehensive Support Center, we hope that the Changsin-dong area will emerge as a leading center of Seoul's fashion clothing industry," adding, "We will present substantial support measures so that the local industry representing Jongno can be reborn as a high value-added industry."
