"Samsung Creates HBM... Believes It Will Succeed"
"Korea's Impatience Is an Advantage... Works Very Fast"
"Korean-made HBM Is Very Important"
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, stated that Samsung was the first to create High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and expressed unwavering confidence in its success. He also conveyed the importance of Korean-made HBM and his eagerness to receive the latest HBM supply as soon as possible.

During a press conference on the 7th (local time), in response to a question about Samsung's HBM, CEO Huang said, "We are testing Samsung's HBM. Samsung will undoubtedly succeed with HBM. It's like believing that tomorrow is Wednesday when today is Tuesday," showing strong confidence.
He added, "Samsung was the first to make the HBM used by NVIDIA."
This remark is interpreted as Huang indicating that although Samsung has not yet supplied the latest HBM to NVIDIA, testing is still ongoing. Samsung has not been able to deliver HBM for the latest graphics processing units (GPUs) because NVIDIA's testing is not yet complete. Only after NVIDIA finishes testing can Samsung's semiconductor sales begin to rise significantly. Domestically, SK Hynix supplies most of the HBM used in NVIDIA's latest GPUs. U.S.-based Micron is also competing to supply HBM to NVIDIA.
CEO Huang also expressed full trust in Korean-supplied HBM. This differs from his previous mention during the keynote speech at CES 2025, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, where he noted that Micron's memory was used in the latest consumer RTX 50 series GPUs.
He said, "Korea is very impatient, which is a good thing. Although new designs need to be made, Korea can accomplish that and is working very quickly with strong determination. I am very confident that they will succeed."
This statement is interpreted as expressing a desire to receive the latest HBM early through Korea. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won mentioned at the SK Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit that CEO Huang had requested to supply the 6th generation High Bandwidth Memory, HBM4, six months earlier. Huang’s use of the term "impatient" again suggests his hope to receive HBM4 supply early. Having HBM4 is essential to produce GPUs that resolve data bottleneck issues.
CEO Huang also emphasized the importance of Korean-made HBM. He said, "SK and Samsung are excellent companies and outstanding memory manufacturers. I expect them to continue succeeding. As shown yesterday (in the keynote), you would have seen how much HBM memory goes into the Grace Superchip and Blackwell. HBM memory is a very important element for us," he stressed. Huang had attracted attention the day before by unveiling the massive shield-shaped Blackwell chip structure during his keynote speech.
