On the 7th (local time), according to the Korean Embassy in Thailand and local media such as Thai PBS, the remains of the Thai victim, Ms. A, were handed over to her bereaved family in Udon Thani Province, northeastern Thailand, the previous afternoon.

Ambassador Park Yong-min of the Korean Embassy in Thailand and Jeju Air officials handed over the remains to the family at Udon Thani International Airport.

Ms. A's father tearfully said, "My daughter, you have now arrived home. I wanted to see my only daughter, the pillar of our family, get off the plane and walk towards me."

After marriage, Ms. A settled in Jeollanam-do and was visiting her hometown when the accident occurred on her way back to Korea. The bereaved family plans to hold a traditional funeral in Neung Uasat village, Udon Thani Province, and then inter the remains.

Ambassador Park said, "On behalf of the Korean government and people, I express my condolences and will strive to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again."

Jeju Air officials delivered documents promising support to the bereaved family.

In this accident, out of 181 passengers on board, 179 lost their lives, including two Thais. The funeral for another Thai victim was held on the 5th at a funeral hall in Haenam. The remains of the deceased, who was a university student, were interred at a memorial park in Korea, and it is reported that the possibility of repatriation to the home country will be discussed later.
