Choi Misook, Jeonnam Provincial Council Member, Wins Excellence Award for Manifesto 'Good Ordinance'

The South Jeolla Provincial Council announced on the 7th that Choi Misook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Shinan 2), recently received the Excellence Award in the Good Ordinance category at the '2024 Local Council Member Manifesto Promise Awards' ceremony.

The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters selects and awards local council members across the country every year who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the 'Pledge Implementation' and 'Good Ordinance' categories, with the goal of strengthening the capabilities of local councils and building a foundation of public trust.

The 'Jeollanam-do Healthcare Workforce Support Ordinance,' which was selected as a good ordinance this time, was enacted to address the collapse of healthcare environments in rural and fishing villages due to increasing healthcare demand from an aging population and the concentration of medical personnel in the metropolitan area.

In particular, it was highly praised for promoting support programs to foster and strengthen the capabilities of healthcare workers, while also establishing legal and policy foundations to protect their human rights and improve their working conditions.

Choi stated, "I am grateful that my efforts to improve the healthcare environment in rural areas have been recognized," and added, "I will continue to do my best in legislative activities and policy development to promote regional development and enhance the welfare of residents."
