Lee Wan-seop, the mayor of Seosan City in Chungnam, continued his active communication efforts by starting a conversation with residents of Dongmun 2-dong on the 6th, followed by a heated discussion with residents of Dongmun 1-dong on the 7th.

On the afternoon of the 7th, the city held a New Year's meeting with citizens at the Seosan City Culture and Welfare Center, attended by about 200 residents of Dongmun 1-dong.

During the event, Dongmun 1-dong residents asked Mayor Lee various questions regarding major issues they were curious about, as well as diverse measures to improve residents' convenience and safety.

In particular, urban development projects aimed at enhancing citizen convenience became a hot topic, with suggestions for balanced development between the east and west through the utilization of the Jamhong-dong cemetery site and questions regarding the progress of the Jamhong 2 District urban development project.

Mayor Lee stated, "The Jamhong 2 District urban development project will proceed without delay, with the implementation plan approval scheduled for this year and completion targeted for 2028."

This year, the city plans to promote urban development projects in Suseok District, Gongnim District, Yecheon 3 District, and Jamhong 2 District, reflecting regional expansion.

The Suseok District urban development project, covering 486,718 square meters around 811 Suseok-dong, is scheduled to begin construction in August. The Gongnim District project, covering 199,607 square meters around 515-2 Yecheon-dong, is set to start in December.

The Jamhong 2 District project, covering 630,760 square meters around 131 Jamdonghong, aims to start construction in December next year.

In addition, various suggestions for ensuring citizen safety were made, including requests for securing student commuting routes at the intersection in front of the new Dongmun 1-dong office, replacing sidewalk blocks in the city center, and countermeasures for landslide risk areas on Buchunsan Mountain.

Lee Wan-seop, the mayor of Seosan, said, "It was a great opportunity to feel the deep interest and passion of Dongmun 1-dong residents for municipal administration," and added, "Based on this passion, we will pursue various policies for regional development this year with a spirit of learning from the past and creating new value."

Meanwhile, on this day, Dongmun 1-dong residents heightened the atmosphere of the meeting with enthusiastic questions about major projects such as the establishment of transportation infrastructure including international cruise ships, veterans' allowances, and the Unsan Hanwoo Ranch well-being trail.
