"Yoon Trying to Break Democracy Rules with Martial Law"
"Myeong Taekyun's Manipulated Data is Cleaner"
"Far-right YouTuber Runs Media Outlet Commissioned"
Author Yoo Si-min compared the poll showing President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating at 40% to "sharing drugs and dancing all night."
On the 6th, Yoo appeared on MBC Radio's 'Kwon Soon-pyo's News High Kick' and shared his thoughts on the declaration of martial law and the recently released poll results. He said, "One in four people say 'well done' to the attempt to use the military to politically annihilate groups with different views. In political science, this is called far-right." He added, "Democracy is a system created by contemplating how groups with different thoughts and interests can coexist without killing each other. President Yoon tried to break this rule, and the fact that this many people say 'no problem, well done' is very dangerous." However, he also expressed optimism, saying, "Conversely, 75% do not agree. There is hope for democracy in the Republic of Korea."

Yoo criticized, "So-called elites and social leaders should have checked whether the president's declaration of martial law was constitutional. It was easy to find out that it was unconstitutional martial law with just a little research." He said, "It would have been right to say at that moment, 'Mr. President, this is unconstitutional.' But not a single person said no." He continued, "During the December 12 incident, there were people who resisted even at the risk of being shot. That was 45 years ago." He lamented, "This situation means the future of the Republic of Korea is very dark. If it were only people appointed by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, it would be one thing, but it seems not to be the case, which is disheartening."
He also said, "Sometimes crowds act much wiser than the individuals that make them up. When that happens, history advances significantly." He noted, "The counterintelligence arrest team’s vehicle was blocked by citizens and couldn’t enter the National Assembly. Looking at the behavior of the elites, I sometimes doubt whether Korea has a future, but watching the footage taken that day makes my nose tingle, and I think we still have hope."
Regarding the recent poll showing President Yoon's approval rating at 40%, he sharply criticized, "Myeong Tae-gyun is good at fabricating. The poll data he manipulated before was much cleaner." Yoo said, "It was a survey commissioned under the name of a place run by a far-right YouTuber, which may not even be a media company. They believe in a survey conducted by a company whose existence is uncertain. It’s like sharing drugs and dancing all night among themselves."
Earlier, the Korea Public Opinion & Reputation Research Institute (KOPRA) conducted a poll commissioned by Asia Today on the 3rd and 4th, surveying 1,000 men and women nationwide aged 18 and over. The results showed President Yoon’s approval rating at 40%.
