Dong-A University Regular Admission Competition Rate 6 to 1... Highest Record in the Last 17 Years of Regular Admissions

1st Place Among 4-Year Universities in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam

Dong-A University’s 2025 regular admission competition rate reached 6.00 to 1, marking the highest rate in the past 17 years. A total of 3,613 applicants applied for 602 spots (within the quota), making it the highest number of applicants in the past six years.

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 7th that the average competition rate was recorded following the internet application process for the 2025 regular admission, along with last year’s selection as a Glocal University.

By admission type, which closed at 6 p.m. on the 3rd, the △ Group D (CSAT) General Student Admission had the highest competition rate at 10.30 to 1 (680 applicants for 66 spots), followed by △ Group B (Practical/Performance) General Student Admission at 7.57 to 1 (280 applicants for 37 spots), and △ Group A (CSAT) General Student Admission at 5.65 to 1 (1,357 applicants for 240 spots).

The department with the highest application rate was the ‘Department of Urban Engineering’ in Group D (CSAT) General Student Admission, with 131 applicants for 7 spots (18.71 to 1). The ‘Division of Liberal Studies’ in Group D (CSAT) General Student Admission followed with a competition rate of 16.50 to 1 (66 applicants for 4 spots).

An official from the Admissions Office stated, “It is a very meaningful result that most departments showed a steady competition rate of over 4 to 1 despite the challenging admissions environment,” adding, “Not only the Admissions Office but all members of the university will work together to secure distinctive talents unique to our university until the very end.”

The top 50% of the first successful candidates in the regular admission will receive a 50% tuition fee support for four years.

Dong-A University operates the Dong-A DAU:M (DAUM) Talent Development Program annually for outstanding new students. The university plans to assign individual mentor professors to strengthen competencies through extracurricular program curricula such as school life guidance, career and employment counseling, and major specialization.
