The Local Government with the Highest Hometown Love Donations in Gyeonggi-do is 'Hwaseong-si'

Last year, among the basic local governments in Gyeonggi Province, Hwaseong-si was found to be the most active in hometown love donations (based on the number of cases).

According to Hwaseong-si on the 7th, a total of 5,504 people donated to Hwaseong-si through hometown love donations last year. This is the highest number among the 31 cities and counties in the province. The number of donation cases in Hwaseong-si increased by 40% from 3,922 cases the previous year. The amount raised last year also increased by 50% compared to the previous year, reaching 537.25 million won.

Accordingly, the cumulative amount raised over the past two years since the implementation of the hometown love donation system has increased to 896.21 million won, with 9,426 donation cases.

The city analyzed that the increase in donations was supported by the voluntary participation of small donors. In fact, among all donors in Hwaseong-si, there were only six high-value donors who donated more than 500,000 won, and the average donation per person was 95,000 won, which is below the full tax deduction limit of 100,000 won, proving this point.

Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong-si, said, "As Hwaseong Special City embarks on a new start, we will use the precious donations filled with the hearts of citizens and donors for meaningful projects to create a brighter and more hopeful city."

The city is conducting donation participation events to express gratitude to donors and encourage continuous participation. In the "Return Donation Event," which started on the 6th, the first 100 people who donate again to Hwaseong-si after donating the previous year will receive additional thank-you gifts. From the 10th to the 20th, during the "Hwaseong Special City New Year's Gift Event," a random draw will provide donors with a set of rice cake soup ingredients worth about 30,000 won.
