On the 7th at 2 p.m., Yangsan City held a press conference and residents' briefing session to announce the vision "Tomorrow's City Mulgeum, One-Stop Life" at the gymnasium of the Yangsan National Sports Center.

About 500 people attended the vision announcement event, including related organizations and residents of the Mulgeum area, provincial and city council members, citizen integration committee members, and journalists.

At the event, which was organized to present a new urban direction for Mulgeum and create a platform for a new leap forward, Mayor Na Dong-yeon personally explained the promotion plans for five key areas of Mulgeum’s priority projects: △parks and leisure △transportation and roads △culture and arts △medical care and learning △residential and business.

The core keyword of this Mulgeum vision is "One-Stop Life," which aims to create an environment where essential facilities for living?such as housing, work, commerce, culture, learning, medical care, and leisure?are densely and complexly integrated so that residents can conveniently enjoy them close to their homes.

As a new direction for the city’s leap forward, the vision pursues a "15-minute city," aiming to develop an urban environment where residents can access necessary services and facilities within 15 minutes by walking or cycling.

In the parks and leisure sector, which is essential for citizens’ physical health and psychological stability, the vision is "a resting place where nature breathes in front of every home." Projects include enhancing convenience at Hwangsan Park, creating a park golf course, establishing Hwangsan Provincial Garden, developing Nakdong Sunset Bike Park, and revitalizing Nakdong River tourism.

The transportation and roads sector focuses on "a network that connects anywhere quickly and easily," emphasizing convenient road connections and transportation networks. Key projects include the renovation and expansion of Mulgeum Station, where KTX trains currently stop, installation of the Nam Mulgeum Hi-Pass IC, and construction of a tunnel between Togyo and Mulgeum.

The culture and arts sector, themed "culture that elevates the value of life," aims to increase opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture and arts through the expansion of modern cultural infrastructure. Plans are underway to build the Yangsan Culture and Arts Center and Yangsan Municipal Art Museum on the long-neglected idle land of Pusan National University Yangsan Campus in the heart of Mulgeum New Town.

The medical and learning sector, themed "a rich daily life with hospitals and schools nearby," highlights Mulgeum’s strengths in medical care and education. Currently, Mulgeum has over 130 hospitals and clinics, including Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital. There is one university, 18 existing elementary, middle, and high schools, and one middle school scheduled to open in March, totaling 20 schools. The area also has 35 libraries, including the central library, Yangsan Library, and 33 small libraries, serving as centers for knowledge and information acquisition.

The residential and business sector, the final part of the One-Stop Life, is themed "housing and workplaces that add vitality to life." The leading project for the space innovation zone within the idle land of Pusan National University Yangsan Campus and the urban regeneration projects in the Mulgeum and Beomeo districts have gained momentum after being selected in government competitions. The Jeungsan district urban development project is being promoted through a public-private joint development method and is expected to become a mini new town with about 7,000 households and 15,000 residents.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon emphasized, "Mulgeum boasts excellent accessibility with connections to highways, urban railways, and KTX, and harmonious living environments where the city and nature coexist, such as eco-friendly spaces like Hwangsan Park. By adding the attractive point of the Mulgeum vision announced today to these advantages, it will become an opportunity to establish itself as a key hub city in the eastern region of Gyeongnam."
