On the 3rd, Seo Yong-han, the head of the Ulleung Youth Group, and its members visited the Ulleung-eup Office to hold a "New Year's Love Rice Sharing with Neighbors" event, gifting 700 kg of rice and glutinous rice.
They hold this sharing event every year to wish for the health of the underprivileged neighbors in the Ulleung area and to convey hope to them.
The Ulleung Youth Group contributes scholarships annually for local educational development and talent cultivation, and supports community development through various volunteer activities such as the local representative festival Beach Song Festival, crime prevention activities in high-crime areas, helping with farm and fishing village labor, and snow removal work during winter.
Seo Yong-han, head of the Ulleung Youth Group, promised diverse volunteer activities, saying, "As we have done so far, the youth group will look after those in lower places and find where help is needed to share love and sacrifice."
Nam Han-kwon, Ulleung County Governor, said, "I hope this serves as a good opportunity to remind us that the region can only thrive if the youth live," and added, "I hope this sharing will make this year a warm one filled with compassion."
