First-Come, First-Served Applications... Until Budget Runs Out

The Jeongeup City Public Health Center in North Jeolla Province announced on the 7th that it will implement a free denture support program for low-income seniors to promote healthy aging.

The eligibility for the denture support program includes recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security medical benefits and those subject to reduced self-payment among people aged 65 or older.

However, those who have previously received denture procedure cost support from the public health center, those who have received support through health insurance coverage at a dental clinic within the past seven years, or those who have been deemed ineligible for dentures after an oral examination are excluded from the program.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted. To apply, visit your local Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Center or public health (treatment) center in your area.

The program procedure involves a first examination at the Oral Health Office of the public health center to assess general health and oral condition, after which the final recipients are selected.

Selected individuals can receive denture procedures free of charge at a dental clinic and will also receive aftercare and aftercare costs for five years.

Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "By providing free dentures for seniors who are vulnerable in oral care, we will help restore diminished oral function and strive to ensure they can lead a healthy later life."
