Samil PwC Hosts Seminar on 'Trump's Second Term: Energy Market Outlook and Response Strategies'

Samil PwC announced on the 7th that it will hold a seminar titled "Trump 2.0, Prospects for the Korean Energy Market and Corporate Response Strategies Amid Global Environmental Changes" at 2 p.m. on the 21st in Amore Hall on the 2nd floor of its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

This seminar is organized to forecast the direction of global decarbonization and energy transition, and to closely examine the changes in Korean energy policy and market, as well as domestic companies' response strategies. With major changes anticipated in the energy policy of the second Trump administration launching on the 20th, attention is focused on changes in the energy markets of the United States, the European Union (EU), and major Asian countries.


To this end, top experts in the energy sector from PwC Global, officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Power Exchange will participate. In the first session, Niloufar Molavi, Partner and PwC Global Oil and Gas Leader, will present on "Trends in Energy Policy Changes Following the U.S. Presidential Election." Additionally, an official from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will lecture on "Changes in Domestic Energy Policy Direction in Response to International Political Changes (Focusing on the Hydrogen Industry)," and PwC Consulting Partner Wonseok Yoo will speak on "Response Strategies of Domestic Companies."


In the second session, Paul Nillesen, Partner and PwC Global Power and Utility Advisory (P&U ADV) Leader, will present on "Changes and Prospects in the Global Renewable Energy Market," and J?rgen Peterseim, Director and PwC Global Hydrogen Expert, will discuss "Crisis and Response Strategies in the Global Hydrogen Business." Following this, an official from the Korea Power Exchange will talk about "Prospects for Changes in the Korean Electricity Market," and Samil PwC Partner Yongtae Seo will lecture on "Response Strategies of Domestic Companies."


After the sessions, a panel discussion will be held with the experts who presented, focusing on the topics covered earlier.


Steven Kang, Sustainability Platform Leader (Partner) who planned the seminar, said, "It is a time to reassess the direction of energy transition and corporate business strategies following the U.S. presidential election," adding, "We hope this seminar will help understand the direction of changes in domestic energy policy and assist in formulating corporate strategies."
