Cheongyang County, Chungnam Province, announced on the 7th that new regulations will be applied following amendments to local tax-related laws.
For the license portion of the registration license tax, if a business is closed by January 25 each year, the regular registration license tax (license portion) will be exempted.
The exemption standard for the resident tax employee portion has been raised from 150 million KRW or less to 180 million KRW or less, and for automobile tax, the annual lump-sum payment discount rate for the convenience of taxpayers will remain at 5%.
As a special policy, the county will operate taxpayer-friendly services this year by selecting 125 exemplary taxpayers by lottery and awarding them Cheongyang Love Gift Certificates.
In addition, the county has opened and is operating a Kakao channel for 'Cheongyang County Automobile Annual Payment Application', and plans to implement a 'Visiting Local Tax Refund Service' for those aged 65 and older who have not claimed their local tax refunds.
Furthermore, for taxpayers who lack the financial means to appoint tax agents such as tax accountants or lawyers, the county operates a 'Local Government Appointed Agent System', which provides free agents for pre-taxation review or objection requests, and a 'Village Tax Accountant System', which offers free consultations for low-income residents.
A county official stated, "We will actively promote the amended local tax laws to ensure their stable implementation and do our best to ensure that county residents receive more benefits."
