Discussion on Key Developments in Creating a Sustainable Agricultural Environment
The Pocheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Im Jong-hoon) held a meeting on the 6th in the council members' meeting room on the 2nd floor to discuss major support projects for preserving farmers' income and developing agriculture with the Pocheon City Federation of Agricultural Entrepreneurs (President Kim Jun-young).

At the meeting, a total of about 15 people, including Chairman Im Jong-hoon, Vice Chairman Yeon Je-chang, and President Kim Jun-young of the Agricultural Entrepreneurs Association, actively discussed strengthening the establishment of infrastructure for income stability of farmers and the creation of a sustainable agricultural environment.
In particular, the discussion mainly focused on policy measures to maintain farmers' income stably against agricultural production conditions and price fluctuations, as well as support projects for agricultural machinery to improve productivity and reduce management costs, aiming to stabilize the agricultural environment.
Additionally, in-depth opinions were exchanged on practical measures for agricultural development, such as support plans to strengthen the capabilities of young farmers, including separate selection methods for youth in the livestock and crop sectors in Pocheon City, and minimizing damage to farms and the beekeeping industry caused by mass bee deaths due to pesticide and pest control chemical spraying.
Chairman Im Jong-hoon said, "Your passion and hard work are the driving force that brightens the future of Pocheon agriculture," and added, "I hope that today's meeting will serve as an opportunity to continue meaningful discussions together and unite efforts to develop local agriculture by establishing rational measures."
He also stated, "We will actively promote what can be done at the council level for the development of local agriculture, including budget support and the establishment of institutional frameworks."
