Yeongcheon City Opens Hopeful New Year with Series of Monetary Donations

A Warm and Heartfelt Winter with a Continuous Line of Donations from Various Sectors

Currently, in Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongbuk, a continuous line of donations for neighborly love is warming up the cold winter weather.

On the 6th, Yeongcheon City announced that the Yeongcheon City Academy Association donated 1.2 million won, the Dongbu-dong Neighborhood Leaders Council donated 1 million won, the Yeongcheon City Association for the Deaf Supporters donated 1 million won, and the Hwabuk-myeon Saemaeul Women's Association also donated 1 million won.


The Yeongcheon City Academy Association donated 1.2 million won to support low-income children in the area. President Bae Si-eun and the members have been leading the development of education and nurturing talent in Yeongcheon City, while also consistently donating to help neighbors in need.


On the same day, the Dongbu-dong Neighborhood Leaders Council also donated 1 million won to assist the disadvantaged and marginalized neighbors in the community. Council President Kang Shin-ae said, “We hope the warm hearts of the neighborhood leaders become a beacon of hope for the community, and we will continue to lead efforts to create a warm Dongbu-dong community together with the residents.”


Additionally, the Yeongcheon City Association for the Deaf Supporters and the Hwabuk-myeon Saemaeul Women's Association each donated 1 million won. The Yeongcheon City Association for the Deaf Supporters is an organization representing and supporting local people with hearing and speech disabilities, providing communication assistance, protecting the rights of the disabled, and offering sign language education. The Hwabuk-myeon Saemaeul Women's Association not only takes on difficult tasks in the village but also engages in various volunteer activities for local residents, such as donating goods and supporting kimchi.


Choi Ki-moon, Mayor of Yeongcheon City, said, “I am grateful to those who have practiced sharing for neighbors in need from the beginning of the new year, and Yeongcheon City will also promote various support projects for those in need to create a community where everyone prospers together.”
