Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu City, held a meeting with Song Hyun, Director of Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital, in the mayor's office on the 6th.

Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital held its opening ceremony and the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 3rd and 4th hospital directors on the 2nd, with Song Hyun inaugurated as the 4th hospital director.

Director Song Hyun is a specialist in cardiovascular thoracic surgery and has served as a professor of thoracic surgery at Seoul Asan Medical Center and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, as well as deputy director of medical services at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital and Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital, and director of management planning at Eulji University Medical Center.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital plays a significant role in treating emergency patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and pediatric emergency patients in northern Gyeonggi Province, greatly helping to minimize medical gaps," and added, "I ask that you take the lead in providing regionally comprehensive medical services."

Since its opening in 2021, Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital has contributed to the rapid treatment and recovery of emergency patients in northern Gyeonggi through participation in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's severe and emergency cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease treatment cooperation network project in 2024, and designation as a responsible pediatric emergency medical institution by Gyeonggi Province.
