Verification of Private Soldier Mobilization by the Security Office
The Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency announced on the 6th that the whereabouts of President Yoon Seok-yeol have been confirmed, and they believe that the execution of the second arrest warrant is fully possible.
A representative of the Special Investigation Unit told reporters in the afternoon that regarding the withdrawal during the execution of the arrest warrant on the 3rd due to safety reasons, “I think it will be possible if we prepare sufficiently for the execution of the second arrest warrant.”
The police stated regarding the legal controversy over the arrest warrant, “The court has made a primary judgment, and there is no problem with the validity of the warrant.”
The police explained about the Security Office installing circular barbed wire in the bushes outside the presidential residence, “We are continuously reviewing (the method).”
A representative of the Special Investigation Unit said about the execution of the second arrest warrant, “It means that we will proceed within the Joint Investigation Headquarters (Gongjobon) in consultation with the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO),” and added, “We are reviewing ways to execute the arrest warrant within limits that do not deviate from the overall framework.”
The police commented on the CIO’s willingness to execute the warrant, “It seems you are making your own judgments,” and regarding whether they will make an on-the-spot arrest during the second execution, they said, “We are thinking as per the intent of your question.”
The Special Investigation Unit explained regarding the mobilization of enlisted soldiers by the Security Office, including the 55th Guard Unit, “We confirmed partial mobilization and congestion at the site,” and “It is correct that two units stationed near the presidential residence are involved.”
