“Police, Public Corruption Investigation Office Official Document Legal Defects... Difficult to Execute Yoon's Arrest Warrant”

"The Corruption Investigation Office said on the 3rd that there are no execution plans"

The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters stated on the 6th that it is "difficult to comply due to legal defects" regarding the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (Hugo) sending an official letter to the police delegating the execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol.

Yoon Geon-young, the Democratic Party's ranking member of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, said to reporters at the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters on the same day, "According to Article 81 of the Criminal Procedure Act, judicial police can execute warrants under the direction of a prosecutor, but the investigation guidelines omit the prosecutor's direction part," adding, "(The National Investigation Headquarters) finds a second execution difficult. They said it would be an abuse of authority due to the Hugo's official letter."

Yoon said, "A senior official from Hugo reportedly said on the 3rd that there was no plan to execute the warrant today," and "We judge that Hugo's will was practically absent."

Yoon also said, "The National Investigation Headquarters said the first execution of the arrest warrant was possible," and "Initially, the Security Office did not have many personnel and suppression was possible, but Hugo delayed."
