The "Honorary Social Welfare Officers" are a human safety net at the eup/myeon level, composed mainly of members of the local community security council, including village chiefs, workers in daily life industries, and mandatory reporters, based on the voluntary participation of local residents.

From March until February 2027, they will play roles such as discovering and reporting households in crisis that need help, participating in investigations to identify vulnerable groups, accompanying home counseling visits, and checking on high-risk households.

Previously, through the activities of the 1st to 3rd Honorary Social Welfare Officers, the city explained that it discovered 6,686 crisis households and connected them to public support worth 988.7 million KRW and private welfare services worth 663.74 million KRW.

Citizens who wish to participate can visit their local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center or apply by fax. Detailed information can be found in the "Honorary Social Welfare Officers Open Recruitment" announcement in the notice section of the Icheon City website.
