Gyeongsang National University Hosts Career and Employment Camp for International Students

Job Exploration, Interview Strategies, and More

The Office of External Cooperation at Gyeongsang National University announced on the 6th that it held the ‘2024 Academic Year Career and Employment Camp for International Students’ at Hanwha Belvedere Resort Geoje.


This event is a program conducted every winter break to help international students at Gyeongsang National University successfully enter Korean society after graduation. A total of 29 international students who applied in advance participated in this event.

The event proceeded in the order of career planning and job exploration using MBTI, image making for interviews, interview strategies, interview speech preparation, finding personal colors, practical interview consulting, preparation of application documents, and establishment of customized employment strategies. The special lecture for HR managers provided guidance on employment visas and related laws, as well as procedures and tips for job preparation.


Ryu Yuyu, an international student participating in the camp (4th year, Department of International Trade, PhD, China), said, “Korea is known worldwide with a very positive image thanks to K-pop and K-culture. Many young foreigners study Korean hoping to get jobs in Korea.” He added, “Gyeongsangnam-do, where Gyeongsang National University is located, has many companies in aerospace, shipbuilding, machinery, and other fields to enter, so I am grateful to have obtained related information through this camp.”


Another international student, Zabrian Dirpan (3rd year, Department of Nano New Materials Convergence Engineering, Master’s, Indonesia), said, “Many people do not know specifically what is needed or how to prepare to get a job at a Korean company.” He added, “Practical interview consulting and preparation of application documents were very helpful. I definitely want to get a job at a Korean company.”


Oh Jae-shin, Director of the Office of External Cooperation, said, “Through this event, we hope that international students will enhance their employment capabilities, acquire practical information for employment, and successfully settle in Korean society.”


Currently, 467 international students from 42 countries are enrolled at Gyeongsang National University. To support their study abroad life, Gyeongsang National University operates events such as International Students’ Day, sports competitions, support for the international student council, Korean culture experiences, employment support programs, and year-end night events.
