Amid the economic crisis, as local governments promote various job projects, Daegu Dong-gu announced on the 6th that it has been selected as the top job project institution in Daegu.

Daegu Dong-gu recorded budget execution rates of 95.1% and 97.2% respectively in the ‘Regional Industry Customized Project’ addressing employment issues according to local industry demand and the ‘Daegu-type Hope Plus Job Project’ for vulnerable groups, showing the best performance among the nine districts and counties.
In particular, Dong-gu discovered recruitment demands from medical and bio companies in the Dong-gu Innovation City and encouraged young job seekers to participate in customized employment support programs, achieving high results with more than half of the education participants securing employment.
Additionally, in specialized projects utilizing local resources, manpower was deployed to the Banya-wol Lotus Root Complex, the largest lotus root complex nationwide, and to the management and environmental maintenance of Otgol Village, a representative local cultural heritage tourist site, contributing to the preservation of local tourism resources and cultural assets, which was also highly evaluated.
Yoon Seok-jun, Mayor of Daegu Dong-gu, said, “This award is the result of Dong-gu’s active and creative efforts to create jobs considering the job-seeking demands of residents and Dong-gu’s industrial conditions,” adding, “We will continue to strive to lead Dong-gu’s development by discovering jobs for youth and vulnerable groups.”
