Hong Joon-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, stated on the 6th, "We will not be unilaterally defeated like during Park Geun-hye's (former president's impeachment)."

On the same day, through his Facebook, Mayor Hong said, "The media is still overwhelmingly criticizing President Yoon Seok-yeol, and the collective hysteria of the leftists has reached its peak. But just wait and see."

He said, "I have consistently opposed the impeachment, stating that it does not constitute treason and is merely a political frame imposed by Lee Jae-myung," adding, "However, suddenly Lee Jae-myung is withdrawing the treason frame and is preparing the impeachment motion again, and with the illegal issuance of an arrest warrant, the judge and the head of the Corruption Investigation Office are colluding to attempt an illegal arrest of President Yoon."

He continued, "The country has become a lawless land," and claimed, "Lee Jae-myung alone is manipulating the entire judiciary and investigative agencies, including the Constitutional Court, and is also controlling the National Assembly. Rather, the treason disguised as legality is being schemed and led by Lee Jae-myung."

Earlier, on the 4th, Mayor Hong criticized the Constitutional Court for prioritizing the impeachment motion against President Yoon. He said, "I am concerned about the Constitutional Court's rushed impeachment trial," and added, "The Constitutional Court should promptly review and make a judgment on those who were illegally impeached by the Democratic Party first, and the impeachment of the president should be reviewed afterward." He further emphasized, "If the order of case reception is violated and a shortcut impeachment is attempted, that is not a trial but a political scheme to buy time for Lee Jae-myung," urging, "As a constitutional institution, please conduct the trial without shame."

He also stated, "I still do not consider the constitutional justices who conducted the sham political trial during Park Geun-hye's impeachment as legal professionals," and warned, "If they again make a sham ruling driven by collective hysteria like during Park Geun-hye's impeachment, the argument for the uselessness of the Constitutional Court will spread, and during the next constitutional amendment, the process to abolish the Constitutional Court may proceed."
