According to the Special Investigation Division of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters on the 6th, Hugoong sent an official letter the previous day stating its intention to delegate the execution of President Yoon's arrest warrant to the police.
Hugoong is said to have instructed the police to execute the warrant, offering to extend the validity period of the arrest warrant for President Yoon. Currently, the Special Investigation Division is internally reviewing Hugoong's request. Since President Yoon's side has pointed out that Hugoong lacks jurisdiction over the investigation of the crime of rebellion, there is speculation that the police may take charge of the arrest and investigation.
Earlier, on the morning of the 3rd around 8 a.m., Hugoong began executing the arrest warrant with police support but was blocked by the Presidential Security Service and was unable to secure President Yoon's custody, halting the execution around 1:30 p.m. Hugoong stated that they approached within 200 meters of the presidential residence but were unable to proceed due to a 'wall' formed by about 200 military personnel and Presidential Security Service staff.
