A Large Complex of 1,404 Households within a 10-Minute Walk from Ssangmun Station... Construction to Start in the Second Half of 2026, Completion Targeted for 2029

A residential complex with up to 46 floors and 1,404 units will be built in the area west of Ssangmun Station in Dobong-gu.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that the complex project plan for the ‘Ssangmun Station West Urban Public Housing Complex District’ at 138-1 Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu, was finally approved by the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 30th of last month.

Including the Banghak Station and the east side of Ssangmun Station, which were the first in the nation to receive approval for a complex project plan in 2023, a total of three sites in Dobong-gu have now been approved.

The district expects a significant improvement in the residential environment as 420 units, 639 units, and 1,404 units will be supplied respectively on the east and west sides of Banghak Station and Ssangmun Station.

The site west of Ssangmun Station, located within a 10-minute walk from Ssangmun Station, will be developed with a floor area ratio of 426.97%, a total floor area of 241,150.75㎡, consisting of 13 buildings ranging from 5 basement levels to 46 floors above ground.

The housing supply types consist of 884 public sale units, 281 profit-sharing sale units, and 239 public rental units, totaling 1,404 units.

A park will be newly established within the site for both residents and local community members, and a public pedestrian passage will be installed to facilitate walking. Additionally, facilities such as a kids caf?, culture center, and workshops, which residents previously requested, will also be created.

Universal design will be applied so that anyone, regardless of age or disability, can access the facilities within the complex, and publicly accessible land will be created along major streets to improve the streetscape environment.

The west side of Ssangmun Station is scheduled to begin construction in the second half of 2026, aiming for completion in 2029. Among the pilot districts, Banghak Station and the east side of Ssangmun Station, where projects are progressing the fastest, are currently selecting contractors and are scheduled to start construction in the first half of 2026.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “With the approval of the Ssangmun Station West complex project plan, all redevelopment projects in the area are expected to gain momentum,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to provide administrative support so that reconstruction and redevelopment projects can proceed quickly and smoothly.”
