The Gyeonggi Provincial Water Resources Headquarters announced the "2025 Public Sewage Project Plan" on the 6th, which involves investing a total of 404.5 billion KRW to carry out 175 projects.
Key projects include investing 73.6 billion KRW in the installation of 50 sewage treatment plants, such as new construction projects for domestic sewage treatment and improvement projects to enhance the performance of sewage treatment plants. Among these, 12 treatment plants are scheduled to be completed within the year.
Additionally, 271.2 billion KRW has been allocated for the maintenance of 101 sewage pipelines to prevent ground subsidence, flood prevention projects in preparation for localized heavy rainfall, and expansion of sewage treatment areas. This amount is 75.2 billion KRW more than last year.
Furthermore, 6.6 billion KRW will be invested in sewage treatment water reuse projects, and 3.4 billion KRW will be allocated for the installation of four integrated biogasification facilities utilizing organic waste resources.
In addition, 49.7 billion KRW will be invested in 16 projects including township-level sewage treatment plants, detailed investigations of aging pipelines, private investment projects (BTL) rental fees, and smart sewage system construction.
Pyo Myeong-gyu, head of the Water and Sewage Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Water Resources Headquarters, stated, "Since public sewage systems are essential facilities for residents' lives, we will cooperate with cities and counties to secure national funds for continuous project promotion and efficiently carry out projects through prompt administrative support."
