Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do has been selected as an 'Excellent' local government for two consecutive years in the Local Price Stability Management Evaluation organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
According to the county on the 5th, this evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targets 243 local governments nationwide and uses 12 indicators in 4 categories, such as local public utility rate stability management, as well as achievements in reducing local public utility fees and promoting the use of Good Price Stores.
The county has consistently managed local public utility rates by freezing water and sewage fees and the price of volume-based waste bags, and by operating a flat-rate 1,000 won fare for rural buses in the region since 2022.
In addition, the county has supported Good Price Stores with public utility fees and supplies to help stabilize their management. Through regular monitoring, accurate price information was provided to residents, and active promotion of price stability contributed to forming a consensus among the local community.
Kim Hanjong, the county governor, said, "It is meaningful to be selected as an excellent local government for price stability management for two consecutive years, even amid difficult economic conditions nationwide," and added, "We will continue to focus on implementing region-specific policies that drive the revitalization of the local economy."
