Companies and economic organizations in Gwangju paid tribute to the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.
On the morning of the 3rd, 120 representatives from Gwangju's economic organizations and associations gathered at the joint memorial altar for the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster, set up at the May 18 Democracy Square in Dong-gu, Gwangju, to pay their respects to the victims.
Those who attended the memorial included Lee Jeongkwon, president of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Federation of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Convergence, Kim Yonggu, president of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Innobiz Association, Park Byeongcheol, president of the Gwangju branch of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association, Lim Youngwoo, president of the Good Companies 100 Roundtable, Hwang Jeongryeon, president of the Gwangju Kindergarten Association, Kim Taeyun, president of the Mudeungsan Women CEO Club, Choi Seonmi, president of the Gwangju Private Daycare Association, as well as representatives from the Gwangju-Jeonnam Root Industry Promotion Association, Korea Photonics Convergence Industry Promotion Association, Gwangju Medical Association, and a total of 14 organizations and related officials.
In addition, 52 CEOs including Lee Donghun, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae Department Store, Jeong Hoe, CEO of Haeyang Energy, Lim Gwangmun, CEO of KPS Partners, Kim Seongwang, chairman of Daeseong Packaging Industry Co., Ltd., and Kim Younggeun, CEO of Songhak Construction Co., Ltd., also participated in the memorial.
Yang Jinseok, president of the Gwangju Employers Federation, stated, "It is an incredibly sad and heartbreaking event. I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident and offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who are suffering greatly," adding, "I sincerely hope that such a disaster never happens again."
