The first public late-night pharmacy designated by the city is "Optima Somang Pharmacy," located in Gyean-dong, which operates daily until midnight, including holidays, with support from national funds and Gwangju City.
The public late-night pharmacy is expected to play a significant role in alleviating citizens' inconvenience in purchasing medicines during late-night hours and minimizing misuse and side effects of medicines through professional medication guidance from pharmacists.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, "We will spare no support to ensure that citizens do not experience inconvenience in using the public late-night pharmacy for its stable operation," and added, "We plan to expand the operation of Gwangju City's public late-night pharmacies by region after reviewing the feasibility of the project."
